Emeris consolidates resources and expertise from IIE Varsity College, IIE MSA, IIE-Vega School, and IIE School of Hospitality & Service Management, with a unified approach ensuring a consistent standard of excellence in teaching, learning, and student support.

Emeris – Newlands, Cape Town has a vacancy for a Part-Time Lecturer in the following modules for Semester 1 2026:

Accounting 1A (ACBP5121)

Financial Management 2A (FINM6221)

Key Performance Areas:

  • Preparation, conducting of lectures, tutorials, workshops.
  • Providing study guidance, learning support, consultation and mentoring of students;
  • Initiation and development of module materials, including on-line materials;
  • Marking and grading of student assessments;
  • Module coordination and quality assurance;
  • A range of administrative functions connected to the discipline and modules being taught;
  • Other duties commensurate to the position as required.


Other Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrate capability to lecture at tertiary level in an effective manner in the core courses stipulated at the highest academic level;
  • Expertise in e-learning programs such as Blackboard and Moodle;
  • Demonstrated capacity to design, set and evaluate assessments at the appropriate level for the courses stipulated;
  • High level of communication skills in verbal, written and electronic modes; and
  • Proven high-level administrative abilities.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • Ideal: Honours/post-graduate qualification in Financial Accounting and Management Accounting

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

  • 3 years’ lecturing experience in a similar higher education role at a tertiary institution.

Working Conditions:

  • Please note that this is an Independent Contractor role
  • Positions are part-time, with lectures taking place between 08:00 and 17:00.
  • Must reside in Cape Town (All classes presented on-Campus)
  • Applicants must be available to lecture for 2 -3 days (business hours) within a week for the duration of the semester.
